I spent the weekend in Copenhagen. It was great - and, even though two days were definitely not enough time, I discovered so many beautiful corners. Last weekend I encountered a new jewellery label: 1988 Jewellery, you've got a new fan! The sterling silver and gold pieces are designed by Lilli Sachse from Hamburg. I am especially taken with the silver stud necklace, earrings and ring! They're the ideal combination of edgy, elegant, cool and puristic! (And I also just love pyramid studs).

Here's a snapshot of what I was wearing on Sunday. The coat is a biker-jacket-inspired "manteau" by Sandro (do you remember it?), the shoes are old vintage boots (it was pretty wet outside, because it had snowed the other day. Also, I still cannot wear high heels), the blue hat is very warm, and the bag ... is my favourite version of "Alexa" (the leather has this amazing blue shimmer) by Mulberry – I will have to tell you more about it later.

I just got back from Berlin, which is why I can only now share my impressions of the Press Days with you. Above are my favourite pieces from the shown spring/summer collections for 2012. From top to bottom: Lala Berlin with its amazing fluorescent prints (stripes and stars), jeans by Avelon (I will definitely get it - can't wait!), lovely prints by Rika, leopard jeans by Thu Thu (brilliant isn't it?!), jacket by Augustin Teboul, blouse by Weekday (I hardly ever wear colours but I love this one!), jewellery by Sabrina Dehoff, waistcoat by 5Preview. I am quite excited now and have a lot of things on my list for spring/summer 2012.

I am not a fan of so-called "nail art" – but I found a simple yet très chic style to wear when I don't feel like bright colours but don't want to go without nail polish either. Very easy to do: apply glitter nail polish to the tips of your nails, then cover it with top coat. Tada!

Metallics seem to be one of the biggest trends for this season (Yes! Finally I will find these silver jeans and the glittering shirt I have been dreaming of for so long!). Of course this doesn't stop at make-up (not with the superior status nailpolish has achieved in the past few years). Well, I tried Silver. What do you think? The colour I used is by Malu Wilz, which I discovered because it was part of this month's "Glossy Box" (they were kind enough to send me a sample). Cassandra Rhodin is another illustrator whose work I could look at forever. I love the shadowy, wrinkled eyes of her pretty characters (they always seem a bit bored) and how she uses watercolours. I own a shirt with one of her illustrations on it, but I'd like a print for my bedroom.
A little anecdote along the way: See the guy in the top picture? When I suggested to buy a hat like that for my boyfriend, he told me I was mental. I need to show him how cool it looks in the illustration.

After touring the world as a model and studying textiles at Chelsea Art School, Victoria Murdoch founded her label "Silken Favours". She was discovered by Liberty, which is where her beautiful silk scarves are now available. The illustrations are hand-drawn, by the way (guess which one is my favourite!). So, I was quite productive this morning. First I protested against nuclear energy – then I went to a local flea market, where I found the sweetest kitschy little deer ever. I'm so happy to welcome it in my home. What you can see to its hooves is what was hidden in the white paper box: a necklace by the jewellery designer Pliet S.H. . A couple of days ago, the amazing illustrator Kris Atomic did a guest post on "A Cup of Joe" in which she illustrated her summer favourites. And guess what, they coincide with mine: outdoor dining, peonies, and summer clothes (including the all-time-favourite Breton shirt). :) Of course I had to share it with you.

Abigail's Birds

Well, I don't know if you like birds as much as I do – and I like them a lot – but no matter how big your affection for these feathery creatures is, I think you will be equally enchanted by Abigail Brown's birds. They are all hand-crafted in her London studio – robins, tomtits, flamingos, peacocks, owls, ... you name it, she can do it. Abigail sews them from different fabrics, sometimes even old pyjamas or curtains. She also has an etsy shop, by the way.

Double Exposure

You can achieve amazing effects with double exposure in photography (I do it more or less accidentally with my Lomo all the time) – but it looks even more impressive used in paintings! Pakayla Rae Biehn has done a "Double Exposure Series" which is – just incredibly beautiful. "My love for you ..." visited her in her studio and gives some great insights into her techniques and work. I want one of her paintings for my bedroom wall.

Okay, as you might know, I can go completely crazy over sketchbooks and excellent drawings or scribbles and I know I recommend artists here all the time - BUT James Gulliver Hancock's illustrations really deserve some excitement! I mean look at these fine lines! The vibrancy! He has also done a brilliant series on chandeliers in Vienna and typewriters in Paris which you should definitely have a look at.

I always fall for delicate jewellery – and Catbird's "Alphabet rings" are dreamlike! They are handmade in Brooklyn and look so fantastic worn as three or four together (and you can even form names or secret codes).

I fell in love with the Swedish brand Triwa last year and I am quite excited about their new collection, called "Beirut Bazaar", which will be available online at the beginning of May. As I said when I was guest-blogging at LesMads, I am trying to bring more colours into my wardrobe this spring – and I think these gaudy plastic watches are an ideal accessory to realise that plan.
